Bio
Leanna Goose is an Anishinaabeg student, a mother of three children, and co-facilitator of the Rise & Repair Coalition. This coalition aims to advance Indigenous rights and climate justice. Her work within the Rise and Repair Coalition space involves working with organizations around the protection of clean water and wild rice, pushing back against false solutions to the climate crisis with real solutions, and fighting against extraction by working with others who care deeply about the world around them. She believes Indigenous wisdom can help us live in right relationship with the land around us. She is currently working on a research project called, "Protecting Manoomin (wild rice) for the Next Seven Generations" in collaboration with the Leech Lake Tribal College and the Leech Lake Division of Resource Management. Leanna strives to help create a world where the next generations can thrive.
